Preserve forever →Francis “Frank” Pierce
July 12, 1965— March 6, 2026
Brockton, MA
Francis "Frank" B. Pierce, of Brockton, formerly of Avon, passed away quietly on March 6, 2026, at the age of 60. Born on July 12, 1965, in Brockton, he was the cherished son of Gerald Pierce of Avon and the late Frances (Hannon) Pierce.
A proud graduate of Avon High School, Class of 1983, Frank worked for many years as the lead mechanic at Rent-All in Avon before becoming a Diesel House machinist at Keolis, formerly MBCR, for nearly 15 years. Colleagues knew him for his deep knowledge, dry wit, and sharp tongue. Beyond his professional life, Frank was endlessly handy, rarely letting anything stay broken for long. He loved puzzles and the daily crossword, played monthly poker with his closest friends, and cherished quiet summer evenings on the tailgate of his Chevy Silverado, in his screenhouse, or simply watching the night sky. He had a special fondness for listening to thunder during spring storms, counting the seconds between lightning strikes.
Frank is survived by his daughters, Rachel Goodsell of Belchertown and Devon MacNevin of Gardner, and his four granddaughters, Lydia, Emilia, Abigail, and Penelope. He also leaves behind his brother, Gerald Pierce of Colorado, and his sisters, Jean Adams of Avon and Julie Modes of Brockton. He joins his late brother and best friend, Steven Pierce, in death. His nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and acquaintances will remember him as a constant source of support, humor, and sarcasm. Frank’s character—marked by strength, sacrifice, and helpfulness—formed the foundation of every relationship he held throughout his life. His presence left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
