Frances Smith
Wynyard, SK
Frances (Frannie) was born in Lacombe, Alberta on January 2, 1942, the New Year’s Baby that year. She spent her life making people laugh and always looked for the fun in every day. Known for her self-deprecating humour, she would often joke, “I’m not fat, I’m fluffy.”
She worked as a devoted mother, a Certified Nurse’s Assistant, and a waitress in various bars in Saskatoon and Wynyard. She lived in Wynyard for many years, where she cherished the close-knit community and the people who became dear to her.
Frannie will be remembered for her quick wit, her straightforward honesty, and the genuine warmth she showed to everyone she met. She is lovingly survived by her children Karen Salagubas (Mike), Brenda Smith (Jim Trotchie), Brent Smith, and Greg Smith (Lisa); her grandchildren Tessa Basset (Adam), Aspen Bentley (Jesse), Clay Trotchie, Austin Smith, Cameron Smith (Dacey), Morgan Smith, and Garrett Smith; and her great-grandchildren Rhonnie Walker, Billie Basset, Coehn, and Cole Smith.
She is at peace now, and those who knew and loved her will miss her very much.
