Preserve forever →Frances M. Bloodsworth
Cambridge, MD
Frances Bloodsworth was born on February 1, 1931, in Lakesville, the daughter of Frank and Mary Ann Elsie Holiday. She grew up in the close-knit community of Madison, Maryland, where she attended the one-room school for grades one through eight before graduating from Cambridge High School as a member of the National Honor Society. Her siblings were Ruth Moore, Susie (Sissy) Holiday, Gladys Mills, Frank (Doc) Holiday, and Robert (Bobby) Holiday, and she shared a sister-like bond with her niece Nancy Parks.
In 1947 she met Bill Bloodsworth, and the two married in January 1949. Together they raised six children: William, Susie, David, Steve, Carol, and Cindy. After her children were grown, Frances realized a long-held dream when Open Bible Academy opened in 1976. Known affectionately as Ms. Frances to generations of students, she began teaching that first year and continued until she was eighty-six. She poured her heart into nurturing children, especially those who needed a little extra love, and freely offered wisdom to anyone seeking a helping hand. One of her favorite sayings, “Love isn’t love until you give it away,” reflected the way she lived her life.
Frances is survived by three children: David Bloodsworth and his children Chris, Brandon, and Cory; Steve Bloodsworth (Vicki) and their children Stephen N. Bloodsworth and Cullen; and Cindy Cannon (David) and their children Shane, Matt, Casey, Roxanne, and D.C. She is also survived by her son-in-law Tom Malik and his children Heather, Carrie, and Jessica, as well as grandchildren Valerie Phillips (Rusty), Michael Windsor (Mary), and Jenny Ruark (Luther), along with a large and loving flock of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who brought her great joy.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by all of her siblings, her children William, Susie, and Carol, and her granddaughter Billie Sue.
