Macedon, NY
Frances June Kelley, daughter of Doin and Lessie Winters, was born in Blytheville, Arkansas on March 16, 1935. She passed away at home in Macedon, New York on February 2, 2026 at the age of 90.
June moved with her family to San Pablo, California in 1941, where she attended local schools. In 1951 she met Donald Ray Kelley, and they married on March 22, 1952 in Reno, Nevada. Their marriage lasted 65 years until Don’s passing in August 2017. Together they raised three children: Sheryle Lee, David Brian, and Dennis Nathan.
A woman of many talents and quiet determination, June earned her GED through night school in 1973 and became a certified Medical Assistant. She worked for doctors associated with Brookside Hospital in San Pablo, California until her retirement in 2018. She was an accomplished seamstress, cook, and baker, and she lovingly crocheted and knitted dozens of blankets and layette sets for her family and church. She enjoyed refinishing furniture, helped tile and paint their home, tended the yard, and took up golf at age 35, becoming a competitive player at Richmond Golf and Country Club where she achieved a hole in one. Later she enjoyed a successful second career as a Mary Kay consultant.
Above all, June was a woman of deep faith. She accepted Jesus as her Savior in 1968 and served faithfully in several churches in California, including Calvary Assembly of God, Pinole Valley Assembly of God, and Full Gospel Fellowship (later The Grove). She was a gifted praise and worship leader, a dedicated Bible teacher, and a trusted confidante to many. After moving to New York, she continued her faith journey at Victory Church and the Silver Belles prayer group. She remained a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, attending countless recitals, games, and events, always making time for her family.
June was preceded in death by her parents, five siblings, her husband Don, their sons David and Dennis, and her great-granddaughter Daniella. She is survived by her daughter Sheryle Bunyard and husband Paul, daughter-in-law Lisa Broeker, twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, sisters-in-law Joyce Johnson and Shirley Perry, brother-in-law Lynn Kelley, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Burial was held privately at Skyview Memorial Lawn in Vallejo, California, where she was laid to rest beside her beloved Don.
