She was born to Oscar Virgil Overstreet and Emma Vienna Carraway in Lamesa, Texas on February 2, 1927. She had an older sister Evelyn Earline born in 1920 and a younger sister Virgie Janette born in 1930. In her early teens she and her family moved to Selma, Ca and attended the Full Gospel Tabernacle church ( later named Cathedral of Light). This is where she met Bobby Gene Clifton. They got married on July 20, 1945. They had four daughters Frances Elaine in 1947, Judy Jean in 1949 and twins Linda Fay and Brenda Kay in 1956. In November of 1974 they divorced. She was single for 10 years before she got reacquainted with a church friend from their youth. They dated awhile then she married Doyle Clayton Woodward in September of 1984. Doyle passed away in April of 1991 and she remained single after that.She was a homemaker and worked seasonal at Libby's cannery in Selma for several years before going to Del Monte cannery in Kingsburg. Most of her 25 years at Del Monte she was a floor lady on the 3rd shift. She loved antiques and ran an antique store in Visalia for a few years with her sister Janette. She also loved to do crafts and to read and did so until she started losing her sight. She loved the Lord and was very active in church were she served in several positions such as the nursery department, Missionettes, Women's ministries and Seniors ministries. Her favorite music was listening to Bill and Gloria Gaither and she watched the Jimmy Swaggert program on TV regularly. She was very independant and outspoken.She is survived by her four daughters Elaine Hennesay Boyd, Judy Petersen (Randy), Linda Ransom (Rick), Brenda Qualls (Mike), her twelve grandchildren Julie Erickson (Tim), Kevin Hennesay, Greg Farrice-Taylor (Shelley), Cathy O'Meara (Todd), Stacey McFerran (Mark), Rick Ransom, Jeff Ransom (Stephanie), Christina Reich (Bryan), Jodi Wiggs, Shelley Betts (Will), Michael Qualls Jr, (Heather), Ryan Qualls (Cassie), twenty five great grandchildren and eleven great, great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her father Oscar Overstreet, her mother Emma Overstreet, her sisters Evelyn Fortenberry and Janette Stallings, and both of her husbands Bob Clifton and Doyle Woodward.A graveside service will be held at Floral Memorial Cemetery in Selma, Ca on March 11, 2026 at 10 am and the viewing will be at Farewell/Page Funeral Home in Selma, Ca on March 10, 2026 from 4pm to 7pm.To send a flower arrangement in memory of Frances Idell Woodward, please click here to visit our sympathy store.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
