Frances Hampton ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Vining Funeral Home - Safford on Mar. 16, 2026.Frances Hampton, a resident of Safford, went to be with the Lord on March 13, 2026. She was born on a farm near Bucklin, Missouri in 1930; the only child of her parents, Richard and Helen Owen. However, it was never a lonely childhood since aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends were all a big part of her family life. Fran married her high school sweetheart, Robert L. "Bob" Hampton in 1948. They had one child, Robert O. Hampton.Her husband was in the military service for over 8 years and he then joined the Missouri Highway Patrol, making several moves during their working years. Fran followed her husband's career but always found a job she enjoyed. She was in banking for 15 years, and then worked for the Missouri Circuit Court System. After retirement, they moved to Arizona to be near their son and his family, and she helped in her son's insurance office for several years. All of her family; her husband, son and his wife, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; were her pride and joy. The relatives in Bob's family were always there for her too.Fran was raised in a Christian home, which she considered a wonderful blessing. She was a member of True Hope Fellowship Church. She played the violin, organ, and ukulele. Fran enjoyed playing bridge (she was hard to beat), loved her poodle, "Peppy", and loved working with her son in his Allstate Insurance office.Fran is preceded in death by: her parents, Richard and Helen Owen; and her husband, Robert Owen.A graveside for Frances will be conducted Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Safford Cemetery by Pastor Johnny West.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
