Frances Hallas, age 83, of Southbury, Connecticut, passed away on March 13, 2026. Born in East Haven, Connecticut, she remained deeply rooted in her home state throughout her life. Frances dedicated 37 years to SNET, where she was known for her strong work ethic and commitment, before retiring after a long and successful career.
Above all, Frances was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Georgette Hallas of Torrington and Kimberly Burns of Woodbury, her son-in-law Richard Burns, and her three cherished grandchildren, Melissa Hallas of Southbury, Michael Burns of Woodbury, and Madison Burns of Baltimore, Maryland, who brought her immense joy.
Frances found her greatest happiness in time spent with her family. She loved attending her grandchildren’s dance lessons and sporting events, never missing an opportunity to support and cheer them on. The beach was her favorite place, and she created many happy memories during family vacations at Misquamicut Beach and Cape Cod. Her presence at these moments reflected her deep love, pride, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Frances will be remembered as a caring and devoted woman whose kindness and love shaped the lives of those around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her daughters, grandchildren, and all who knew her.
