Funeral Mass for Frances Bullinger, 98, of Dickinson will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Ryan Martire celebrating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's cemetery.
Visitation for Frances will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Stevenson Funeral Home with a rosary and vigil service being held at 6:00 p.m.
Frances passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026 at CHI St. Alexius Dickinson.
Frances was born in Dunn County on October 12, 1927, the daughter of Carl and Margaret (Boespflug) Roshau. Growing up in rural Dickinson, she attended grade school at Willmen School District and one year of high school in Killdeer. Frances became the wife of Anton "Tony" Bullinger on November 11, 1947. Together they raised their family of seven out on the farm where they lived until 1976. Frances and Tony moved into Dickinson that year, where she lived in her home until she moved to Evergreen and eventually St Benedicts. Frances was a lifetime homemaker who was also active in her church and community, participating in Catholic Daughters and the church Funeral Circle. She was a Dunn County Farmers Union Youth Leader, a member of Silver Ladies, Eagles Auxiliary, Friendly Neighbors Homemakers Club and she played on a bowling league. Frances enjoyed cooking, crocheting, quilting, bowling and visiting with friends and family. In her younger days, she could be found riding horseback. Her favorite quote would be "My Family is My Life".
Frances is survived by her sons, Gary (Elaine), Don (Jan), Harlan (Buddine) all of Dickinson, Darwin (Sherry) of Gillette, WY; daughters, Margaret (Martin) Miller of Casa Grande, AZ, Connie (Gary) Dvorak of Dickinson, Annette (Robert) Engelhart of Bennington, NE; 19 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Jeanne), Robert (Sharon), Joseph (Mary) all of Dickinson; sisters, Delores Franchuk of Lolo, MT, Margaret (Robert) Clark of Missoula, MT; brother-in-law, David Franchuk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Margaret Roshau; her in-laws, Ben and Rose Bullinger; husband, Anton "Tony" of 45 years; grandchildren Shawn Bullinger, Michelle Dvorak, Jonathan Miller; infant brothers, Leo and Larry; siblings, Anne (Pete) Bullinger, Harry and Maggie Roshau; Pauline (William) Sadowsky, Florence (Leo) Haag; Irene Franchuk, Kathryn and Ray Jilek; Ralph (Alice) Roshau; and Richard (Marlene) Roshau; brother-in-law, Richard Franchuk.
