Frances Ann Hand

Frances Ann Hand, 79, of Dover, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Wellspan York Hospital in York.

Born on August 18, 1946, in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, Frances was the daughter of the late Richard and C. Louise (Reed) Shade. She graduated from Shamokin High School in 1964. She worked as a manager at Fincor in York and later co-owned the Old Square Bed and Breakfast in Mount Joy with her husband. She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Shamokin and St. John Lutheran Church in Mount Wolf.

Frances married David A. Hand on August 5, 1972, and they shared 53 years together. She is survived by her husband, David; her daughter, Dawn McWilliams and her companion Scott of Manchester; her son, David J. Hand and his wife Danielle of Cleona; her grandson, Cooper; and her sister, Cynthia Cone of Hobe Sound, Florida.

Her family will remember her quiet strength, her dedication to her work and home, and the love she shared with those closest to her.
