Floyd Robert Martin, a longtime resident of Pioneer, California, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on November 6, 1943, in Battle Creek, Michigan, Floyd lived a life defined by quiet strength, deep loyalty, and unwavering commitment to his family, his country, and his community.

He served his country as a veteran before beginning a 32-year career as a salesman in the beverage industry. For the final 13 years before his retirement, he served as Amador County’s Veterans Service Officer, where his dedication to helping others reflected his strong work ethic and genuine care for those around him. Floyd was also one of the founders of Pioneer Park and an original volunteer with the Pioneer Volunteer Fire Department. He spent many years coaching Little League and girls’ softball, positively influencing generations of young athletes in his community. A devoted supporter of the American Legion, he worked tirelessly to ensure fellow veterans received the respect and assistance they had earned.

On September 5, 1964, Floyd married his beloved wife, Mary, and they shared 62 years of marriage. He is survived by Mary; their daughters, Amanda (Dan) Mondani and Robyn (Aaron) Scalise; granddaughters McKayla (Clay) Ritts, Alyssa (DJ) Ogden, Riley Scalise, and Addison Scalise; his sister Donna; his brother Ron; and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Martin.

Floyd’s life was grounded in the love of his family and the quiet satisfaction of service. Those who knew him will remember his steadfast presence and the many lives he touched through his kindness and dedication. He will be deeply missed.
