He was born January 30, 1935 in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the son of Floyd A. and Ada (Thompson) Marquette.A 1954 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, Floyd worked at General Electric – Ohio Lamp, retiring after forty years of employment. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Eagles Club.Floyd enjoyed his trips to Canada, and he loved to be outdoors, especially fishing or hiking. In recent years, he and Donna spent their winters in Florida, looking forward to the sunshine and happy hours with friends. He had a knack for gardening and growing vegetables. He had a gift as a carpenter and craftsman, and he could take any concept and bring it to life. Floyd was the quintessential family man: kind, patient, hard-working, and a proud husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.Precious memories of Floyd live on with his beloved wife of nearly forty-one years, Donna J. (Schick) Marquette, whom he married May 30, 1985; his son, Mark Marquette of Warren; four daughters: Michele Davis (Levi) of Washington state, Darlene Cozadd (Keith) of Virginia, Valerie Bobbett (Scott) of Washington state, and Tiffany Ford of Indiana; eight grandchildren: Rob (Megan) and Chad (Cassie) Kennedy, Angel Sardina (Mario), Joshua, Jacob, and Brittany Marquette, Sarah Bollum (Brady), and Chaney Ford; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Henrietta Matson and Cecelia Koncsol, both of Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, and their families who love him dearly and think of him fondly.Preceding him in death are his parents and an infant son.Calling hours are 3:00 to 5:00 pm Friday, March 20, 2026 at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, where services will follow at 5:00 pm. Military honors will be conferred.
