Floyd J Morbitzer

Floyd J. Morbitzer, age 93, of Weatherford, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, in Weatherford.

Born on November 9, 1932, to Joseph Raymond Morbitzer and Catherine Alfreda Weinzapfel Morbitzer, Floyd grew up with a strong sense of duty and curiosity that would shape his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and Air Force during the Korean War. Upon returning home, he built a long career as a civil engineer, first with the Corps of Engineers and later with FEMA, retiring after many years of dedicated service.

Floyd was known as a jack of all trades, a man of many talents who approached life with quiet competence and enthusiasm. He found particular joy in square dancing and was an active member of the Regional Squares Club, dancing throughout Texas and Germany with friends and fellow dancers.

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Ravina Towe of North Carolina, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Floyd was preceded in death by his three sisters, Alene Nowell, Velma Filippone and Lorinda Manasco, and by his three brothers, Denis, Clyde and Donald Morbitzer.
