Florence Ross

Florence “Lori” Ross, 59, of Bluffton, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on February 27, 2026, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on October 4, 1966, Lori devoted her life to caring for others. She began her career as a registered nurse and later moved into hospital administration, where she worked with passion and dedication as Regional Director of Quality at Community Health Systems to improve patient outcomes.

Lori cherished the life she built in Sun City with her husband, Michael. She found joy in playing tennis, biking, walking nature trails, visiting family and friends, cheering for her beloved Eagles and Phillies, and losing herself in a good book, especially Southern fiction.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Michael; her mother, Florence “Ginger” Miller (Randy); her brother, Carmen Alvaro (Jacqueline); her sister, Beth Czubati (Christopher); and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Alvaro. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Virginia Ross; brother-in-law, Thomas Ross (Debbie); sister-in-law, Patricia Kerns (Richard); brother-in-law, John Ross (Lisa); sister-in-law, Maryellen Ross; and her lifelong friend, Karen Winther (Bob).
