Florence Reiners

Florence Reiners of Edina, formerly of Northeast Minneapolis, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, at the age of 96. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Donald, and her seven siblings. She is survived by her children Mary (John) Meyer, Don (Cindy), and Anne (Bruce) Palm, as well as her grandchildren Sofia, Emma, Mason, Ethan, Gage, Danny, Jack, Charlie, and Lilly, and her two great-grandchildren Eleanor and Mara.

Born and raised in Northeast Minneapolis, Florence grew up attending Holy Cross Catholic Church and school. After marrying Donald in 1965, she and her husband became active members of Our Lady of Victory and Christ the King parishes. Proud of her Polish heritage, she excelled at preparing traditional Polish dishes and lovingly passed those recipes and customs on to her children and grandchildren.

Florence was known for her strong work ethic, continuing to work until the age of 84 at Mt. Sinai Hospital and the Phillips Eye Institute. A dedicated union representative, she was a tireless advocate for her fellow workers. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who found joy in shopping, dining out, caring for her many cats and dogs, and gathering family and friends for special occasions. Outgoing and warm, Florence kept her home open to all, greeting everyone with genuine hospitality and making them feel welcome.
