Florence Jean Elkin

Florence Jean Elkin, known to family and friends as Jean, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on August 3, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee, she was raised there and spent her life surrounded by the family and community she cherished.

Jean was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was marked by strength, determination, and deep love for her family. Those who knew her will remember her strong faith in Jesus, her tenacity, her steadfast ways, and the care she showed to those around her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reagon Buford Elkin, and her siblings, J.W. Cross and Evelyn Jo Ransom. Jean is survived by her sons, Mark Elkin (Pam) and John Elkin; her grandchildren, John Elkin Jr., Anthony Elkin (Amanda), Mark Elkin Jr., Misty Elkin, Joshua Elkin (Lauren), and Bruce Elkin; and her great-grandchildren, Lexi Jo Elkin, Haven Elkin, Shaun Hawkins, Ava Hawkins, and Liam Elkin.

She leaves behind a family who loved her deeply and who will carry forward the memories, traditions, and lessons she shared throughout her life.
