Flora E. Christner

Flora E. Christner, 84, of Marshfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

Born on December 7, 1941, in Marshfield, Flora was the daughter of the late Anton and Emma (Altmann) Kraemer. On August 4, 1962, she married John Christner in Marshfield. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2004.

For many years, Flora worked alongside her husband in their various business ventures, most recently serving as office manager at Charles Apartments, the historic building they owned and operated together in Marshfield. A devoted wife and mother, she found great joy in cooking and baking, especially for holidays. Her Catholic faith was a source of strength throughout her life. Those who knew her were drawn to her warm sense of humor and beautiful laugh. She cherished vacations with John, particularly trips to New York City where she loved attending Broadway shows, and their frequent visits to Las Vegas two or three times each year.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Barbara Christner of Marshfield, her sisters Rosemary Adler of Appleton and Rita Gassner of Wausau, her in-laws Mike and Bonnie Christner of Marshfield, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Flora was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Richard and Thomas Kraemer, and a sister, Arline Stangl.
