Flavia Imme

Flavia Imme, née Ternullo, passed away peacefully at her home in Middletown on March 11, 2026, at the age of 82. Born in Melilli, Sicily, to the late Giuseppe and Maria Cazzetta Ternullo, she immigrated to the United States at 23 with little more than a suitcase and a dream of a better life. Within a week of her arrival, she began working for the Russell Company operating textile looms while teaching herself English by noting new words in a small notebook. Through determination and hard work, she built a life of which she was deeply proud.

Flavia later worked at Best Cleaners, where she honed her talent for sewing, and eventually opened Flavia’s Tailoring, a business she operated with pride for more than 30 years. Her loyal customers often became cherished friends. She shared a loving 42-year marriage with her husband, Salvatore Imme, the great love of her life. Together they created a warm home filled with laughter and love. Flavia was the heart of her family, known for her wisdom, generosity, and the Sunday dinners and holidays she hosted with care. Elegant and welcoming, she was loved by all who knew her. A devoted Catholic, she was an active member of St. Sebastian’s Church and the Ladies Guild, with a deep devotion to St. Sebastian.

She is survived by her children, Giovanni (John) Imme and his wife Linda, Carmelina (Ina) Imme Gallant, and Marylou Imme Michel; her grandchildren, Giovanni (Johnny) Imme, Olivia Michel, and Mason Gallant; her brother Luigi Ternullo and his wife Concetta (Tina); and many nieces and nephews in both the United States and Sicily, all of whom she adored.

Flavia was predeceased by her beloved husband Salvatore Imme and her siblings Sebastiano Ternullo (Lucia), Emanuele Ternullo (Concetta), Carmelo Ternullo (Graziella), and Lucia Floridia (Franco).
