Ferris Kosloski ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes - Lansing Chapel on Mar. 15, 2026.Celebrating the Life of Ferris "Mike" E. KosloskiFerris "Mike" E. Kosloski, a cherished soul whose humor and warmth radiated through every room he entered, was called home on March 14, 2026. Born on July 5, 1938, in the quaint town of Hubbard Lake, Michigan, Mike's life journey came to a peaceful close in East Lansing, Michigan. He was a beloved husband to Marilyn, a guiding father to Mark and Michael (Andrea), and a doting grandfather to Ashley, Chip (Courtney), Katie (Brad), Jordon (Lauryn), Michael, and Justin. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Ayden, Thomas, Wade, Rowyn, Scottie, Harlow, and Maverick.Mike's legacy is one of love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to family. As a proud alumnus of Eastern High School's class of 1957, he met his soul mate Marilyn in homeroom during the 9th grade at Pattengill Junior High. Marilyn remained Mike's rock for over 70 years, and together they were married for almost 67 years, forming an amazing partnership that inspired all who knew them.Mike's love for people was the cornerstone of his life, guiding his actions and infusing his sense of humor. He found laughter in the everyday and was often heard sharing a quip to lighten the hearts of those around him. Mike understood the value of patience, and his unconditional love created lasting connections with everyone who crossed his path.Mike parlayed his passion for precision and craftsmanship into a fulfilling career as an independent finish carpenter. His handiwork graced many homes across Lansing, East Lansing, and Okemos, leaving a tangible legacy of skill and dedication.Beyond his career, Mike truly made his mark on the baseball diamond and the sidelines of various sports fields. As an assistant coach for the Everett Vikings and Lansing Catholic Central, and during a brief tenure as head coach at Waverly, he found joy in mentoring young athletes. Mike believed in teaching not just the game but imparting life lessons to shape the character of his players.Mike's affinity for sports was universal, but baseball held a special place in his heart. He was as much a coach off the field as he was on, offering advice and encouragement to the young adults of Lansing. His impact as a mentor extended beyond sports, nurturing the growth of life skills and virtues in the community. His love for sports was only matched by his enthusiasm for his son's and grandchildren's activities. Each grandchild held a special place in his heart, with Mike celebrating their achievements and milestones with pride and joy. His six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren were his greatest fans, each cherishing their unique bond with their grandpa. In his leisure time, Mike was a treasure hunter of sorts, frequenting garage sales with an eye for the undiscovered gem. His finds were often repurposed or passed along as gifts, reflecting his generous spirit and love for giving. Mike's friendly demeanor on these excursions made him popular with strangers, as he was always ready to share a joke with fellow bargain hunters. Those who knew him best described him as loving, funny, and friendly.Mike's presence was a gift to all who crossed his path. His laughter, wisdom, and unwavering kindness will be deeply missed but never forgotten. If you met Mike, you were instantly his friend. As we say goodbye to Ferris E. "Mike" Kosloski, we celebrate a life lived with purpose, joy, and an abundance of love. His spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the memories of his laughter will forever echo in our hearts.
