Fernande Damphousse

Fernande Damphousse (née Fillion) passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on February 4, 1936, in Frenchville, Saskatchewan, the eighth of ten children to Louis-Paul Fillion and Marie-Anne (Dupuis), she married Paul Damphousse on April 23, 1960. Predeceased by her husband on November 13, 2009, Fernande was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who shared a special bond with each of her grandchildren.

She will be lovingly remembered by her five children and their spouses: Gisèle (late Gilles Gratton), Jocelyne (Howard Laxson), Paulette (Gilbert Patenaude), Marie-Paule (Marcel Delorme), and Guy (Ginette Clément); her 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Florence Collette, sisters- and brother-in-law Gilberte Fillion, France Vermette, Céline Dansereau, and Father Georges Damphousse, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Fernande was known for her generous spirit, her exceptional baking, and the large gardens she tended each year, always sharing their abundant vegetables with family and friends. A devout Roman Catholic and member of the Women's Catholic League, she lived her faith with quiet dedication throughout her life.
