Fausto Salgado

September 6, 1963 March 9, 2026

Norridge, IL

Fausto Salgado was the kind of man people naturally gravitated toward. Warm, dependable, and quick with a smile, he was someone everyone relied on, laughed with, and felt comfortable around. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and father figure to many, he was lovingly known as “Grandpa.” He stood at the heart of his family, the person others could always count on.

Whether it was fixing a car, repairing something around the house, rising before sunrise to drive his daughter to work, or waking in the middle of the night to pick her up after a late shift, Fausto never hesitated to show up for those he loved. When someone was ill, needed help getting to a hospital appointment, or simply required a steady presence by their side, he was there without question.

A lifelong body man who painted cars, Fausto had a remarkable talent for fixing things and solving problems. If something broke, he found a way to make it work, often in his own creative fashion, but he always got the job done. Family, neighbors, friends, and coworkers knew he was the one to call when a solution was needed.

What people loved most about Fausto was his humor and quick wit. He kept those around him laughing with his jokes, fast comebacks, and favorite sayings, including his reminders about Murphy’s Law and the simple truth that “a dollar is a dollar—without a dollar you can’t get to a hundred.” He had a gift for making people feel at ease, whether sharing stories over coffee or simply sitting and talking for hours. He loved to grill, and many of the family’s best memories were made around the grill with food cooking, people gathered close, and laughter filling the air. Because of him, their home was always full of cousins, friends, and family drawn by his warmth and generosity.

Fausto Salgado leaves behind a world that feels a little quieter without him, yet the love and memories he gave will echo in the lives of all those he touched.
