Fanny Ann Byer

Fanny Ann Byer, 88, of Maryville, Illinois, passed away on March 7, 2026, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, Illinois.

Born on August 30, 1937, in Hammond, Louisiana, to Pete and Josephine (née Nuccio) LaMonte, Fanny married William Allen Byer on July 4, 1960. She was a devoted homemaker who centered her life on caring for her family. She found deep satisfaction in crocheting, quilting, and painting, and cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. A lifelong Catholic, she was a faithful member of Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and six siblings—Santa Rose, Joe, Louie, Tony Mike, Johnnie, and Mary—Fanny is survived by her six children, Cathy Byer, Tom (Stephanie) Byer, Mike (Susie) Byer, Scott (Edie) Byer, Dan Byer, and Heather Byer; eight grandchildren, Brett, Eric, Alyx, Sami, Hannah, Andy, Abby, and Scarlett; four great-grandchildren, Zeke, Havi, Lena, and Urijah; her brother, Sam LaMonte; and many nieces and nephews.
