Fannie Jones

March 7, 1946 March 12, 2026

Hudson, NY

Fannie Jones, age 80, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson. Born on March 7, 1946, in Rhinebeck to Pauline Hosier and James Lawrence, she grew up with her siblings, Edith Rodegerdts, Cora “Dolly” Richardson, and Ernie “Buddy” Lawrence.

Fannie lived a life defined by kindness, devotion, and quiet strength. A selfless woman, she gave generously of her time and comfort to care for others. Her greatest joy came from the people and animals around her, and she offered her love freely to both. She had a deep compassion for animals and was known for taking in strays, feeding birds, and gently nursing sick creatures back to health.

A dedicated homemaker and loving mother, Fannie devoted her life to raising her children and later helping care for many of their children as well. Her home was a place of warmth, guidance, and unconditional love. She was a devoted wife to her husband, Clifford Jones Sr., who predeceased her on April 3, 2013. Together they built a life centered on family, care, and commitment. Though she rarely traveled far from home and found contentment in familiar places, Fannie discovered deep happiness in life’s simple moments and in the people she loved most.

She is survived by her steadfast and caring partner, Michael Fischer; her loving children, Pauline McLain, Fannie Gubler, Clifford Jones Jr., Audrey Quenneville, Edith Crosby, Tricia Mussmacher, Drew Jones, and John Jones; and her sisters-in-law, Georgia Miles, Robin Negri, and Debbie Chamberlain. She also leaves behind 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren, along with many other family members who loved her dearly. She was predeceased by her son, George Jones, and her great-grandson, Caleb Dier.
