Faith F. (Fairchild) McTigue

Faith F. (Fairchild) McTigue, 90, of Center Barnstead, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, at the Keene Center after a period of failing health.

Born on March 23, 1935, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late George Sherman and Ruth Lillian (Schadewald) Fairchild. Faith was the beloved wife of 45 years to the late Robert J. McTigue.

Together, Faith and Bob were the proud innkeepers of the Captain Folsom Inn, a cherished bed and breakfast in Greenland, New Hampshire, where they welcomed guests for 20 years and created a warm, home-like atmosphere that many remember fondly. They traveled extensively in their Airstream, exploring the country and embracing new adventures. Faith’s lifelong passion for quilting filled her days with color and creativity, while she tended her garden with care, sharing its flowers and vegetables with friends and neighbors. A devoted student of history, she found joy in learning about the past and preserving family stories that connected generations. Her warmth, curiosity, and creative spirit touched everyone who knew her.

In addition to her parents and husband, Faith was predeceased by her son, Duane, and her stepdaughter, Tamara, and Tamara’s husband, David. She is survived by her children, Deborah, David, and Dianne and their spouses; her stepchildren, Bonnie, John, and Holly and their spouses; her brother, Donald; and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She will be laid to rest with her husband, Bob, at Bellevue Cemetery in Harvard, Massachusetts, at the convenience of the family.
