Ithaca, MI
Everett Vincine “Butch” Ebright, Jr., 79, of Ithaca, Michigan, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Masonic Pathways in Alma.
Butch lived a life defined by loyalty, generosity, and a deep love for the outdoors and motorsports. From a young age, he shared a special bond with his father, learning the values of hard work, friendship, and time well spent together. Those early years shaped a lifelong passion for racing, hunting, and fishing—pursuits that brought him some of his greatest joys.
His involvement in motorsports began early and became a lifelong commitment. For more than 55 years, Butch was a steady and unmistakable presence at his home dirt track. Whether driving, owning cars, or working in the garage, he was known for his willingness to help anyone in need. If someone required a part, tools, advice, or encouragement, Butch was always there. He took special pride in mentoring young racers, often helping them build their first cars by covering costs and sharing his time, knowledge, and equipment. His quiet generosity shaped countless careers and left a lasting mark on the racing community.
Beyond the track, Butch found peace in the woods and on the water. Hunting and fishing trips with his father were cherished traditions, later shared with his great friend Bob Smith. The three formed an annual deer camp that became a sacred time of early mornings, campfires, storytelling, and enduring friendship. Those who knew him remember a man whose garage door was always open, whose advice was freely given, and whose friendship was unwavering.
Butch is survived by his cousin Archie Manina and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Sue Ann Kay Fockler, and his good friend Al Stamm.
