Evelyn Norris Godwin

Benson, NC: Mrs. Hattie Evelyn Norris Godwin, age 72, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM, Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC. Graveside Funeral Services will be 11:00AM-Friday, March 20, 2026 at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson, NC. Rev. Mike Capps will officiate.

Mrs. Godwin was born on February 15, 1954 in Harnett County, NC, to the late Lesker “Leck” and Hattie Beasley Norris. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her siblings, Leo Norris, Brenda Norris, Linwood “Lenny” Norris, and Howard Norris. Mrs. Godwin was a teller supervisor, and retired as a teller with First Citizens Bank in Benson, NC, with 40 years of service. She enjoyed working in her yards, and vegetable gardening. She will always be remembered for her passion for weed eating.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Godwin, sons, Greg Godwin and wife, Cassandra, and Kevin Godwin and wife, Calla; grandchildren, Colton Godwin and Reynolds Godwin; brother, Loyied Norris and wife Barbara; and Larry Norris and wife, Charlene; several nieces and nephews.
