Evelyn June Rogers

Evelyn June Rogers, 96, of Taylorville, Illinois, passed away on March 9, 2026, at Taylorville Care Center. Born on May 17, 1929, in Morrisonville, Illinois, to the late William and Alma (DeWeroff) Miller, she lived a life defined by quiet strength and selfless care for others.

For forty years, Evelyn worked as a nurse’s aide, offering her patients grace, kindness, and compassion. She and her husband Fred were active members of the Eagles Club, Moose Lodge, American Legion, and VFW. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, who remember her warmth and gentle spirit with deep affection.

She is survived by her son, Gerald (Dolores) Lutz of Decatur, Illinois; grandson Chad William Lutz; great-grandchildren Kaitlyn, Mason, and Adam Lutz; great-great-grandson Jagger Eugene Largent; and her sister, Grace Maygan.

In addition to her parents and first husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Fred Rogers in 1980, her grandson Jerry Dean Lutz, two brothers William Miller Sr. and Larry Miller, and her sister Mary Mann.
