Evelyn E. Binger

1922 — 2026

Monroe, WI

Evelyn E. Binger, age 103, of Monroe, passed away on March 14, 2026, at Pleasant View Nursing Home. Born on April 16, 1922, in Monroe, she was the daughter of William and Lydia (Blasing) Marean. She graduated from Juda High School in 1939, attended Green County Normal School, and earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. In 1946, she married Ellsworth “Brownie” Binger at Union United Methodist Church in Oakley.

Evelyn began her teaching career in a one-room schoolhouse in Twin Grove and later taught at Fairfield School, Davis, Illinois, and Lincoln Elementary in Freeport. She and her husband farmed the Binger home place until 1984, after which they moved to Monroe in 1992. A longtime member of Oakley Union United Methodist Church and the Green County Retired Educators, she found joy in gardening, sewing, crafts, baking, and fishing. She was a devoted Badger and Packer fan and loved playing cards, especially Euchre and 500.

She is survived by her four sons, Roy (LeAnn) of Petersburg, Virginia, Jerry (Karen) of Evansville, Steve (Debbie) of Black Earth, and Don (Linda) of Beloit; nine grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and a step-great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth, in 2007; her brother, Victor (Florence) Marean; and her sisters, Ruby (Walter) Regez and Mary (Harold) Green.
