Evalyn Hewitt

Evalyn Hewitt, born on October 6, 1944, in Porterdale, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at the age of 81. The cherished daughter of Aubrey and Eva Singley, she grew up in a close-knit family alongside her brother, Sam Melvin Singley.

On May 25, 1963, Evalyn married Douglas Hewitt, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned 62 years. Together they raised four children: Lynn Deaton, Melissa Hambright, Denise Hewitt, and Steve Hewitt, who preceded her in death. Evalyn’s love extended deeply to her 14 grandchildren—Michael, Tierra, Whitney, Zane, Dylan, Morgan, Chaz, Kaleigh, Tristan, Aiden, Ashton, Cody, Justin, and Patrick—and her great-grandchildren: Sage, Nova, Jack, Grayson, Emily, Lilly, Oaklyn, Kamryn, Eviee, Raelynn, and those yet to come.

Evalyn was a woman of grace and compassion whose nurturing spirit created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering love. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she touched the lives of all who knew her with kindness and quiet strength, leaving behind a legacy that will continue through the generations she so dearly cherished.
