Eva Mae Derocher
December 26, 1943— March 9, 2026
Au Gres, MI
Eva Mae Derocher (Davis) passed away on March 9, 2026. Born on December 26, 1943, to Martin and Violet Davis in Omer, Michigan, she spent most of her life on the Davis homestead in Au Gres.
Eva was a devoted caregiver who lived with her parents in their later years so they could remain in their home. Raised in a family that sustained itself through commercial fishing, working potato fields, hunting, trapping, gardening, and raising chickens, she developed a deep love for the outdoors. Fishing was her greatest passion, whether from a boat on the water, on the ice, or along the bank of the channel. She took special joy in sharing this love with children, passing it down through generations of the Arenac County Davis family.
She is survived by her son Larry Derocher III, her grandson Larry Derocher IV and his wife Samantha, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends. Eva was predeceased by her husband Larry II, an infant granddaughter Krisjain, her parents Martin and Violet Davis, her brothers Leslie, Horatio, David, and Norman Davis, and her sisters Elsie Graninger, Rosie Chittle, and Alice Mixter.
Above all, Eva’s deepest passion was her family. Her love for them will be what she is remembered for most. She will be forever loved, honored, and cherished by Larry III, Larry IV, and Samantha.
