Born on September 28, 1933, in Nexquipayac, Mexico, she was a beacon of love and strength to all who knew her. Her laughter and warmth will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all the lives she touched.Mami Evita was the matriarch of a large and loving family. She is survived by her devoted children, Rosa Maria, Angelica, Jimmy, Ray, Edgardo, and Carlos. She was a source of endless support and joy to her children, instilling in them the values of faith, hard work, and love. Though her husband Juan and her sons Jorge and Gonzalo preceded her in death, their memories remain a cherished part of her family's legacy.A proud and determined woman, Mami Evita became a U.S. Citizen, embracing the opportunities and responsibilities that came with this new chapter in her life. She worked tirelessly as a seamstress in her young adult life and later in the 1990's as an entrepreneur, always striving to provide for her family and to set an example of what it means to persevere.Mami Evita's Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life. She found great comfort and joy in attending church services, praying the rosary, and living out her beliefs through acts of kindness. Her generosity knew no bounds, and she could often be found sharing what she had with others, whether it was her time, her wisdom, or a meal.Her interests were a reflection of her love for life and family. Mami Evita cherished the moments spent with her 15 grandchildren, 8 great-grand children and 5 great great grandchildren, savoring the simple pleasures of their company. She enjoyed dining out and experiencing the variety of foods that life had to offer. Her favorite restaurants were Olive Garden, Sizzler, and Denny's. Additionally, she was an enthusiastic participant in a women's softball league in the early 1980's, where she demonstrated her competitive spirit and camaraderie.Mami Evita was known for her sense of humor, which brought laughter and lightness to those around her. She faced life's challenges with courage, never losing her ability to smile and find joy in the everyday. Her generosity extended beyond her nuclear family, touching the lives of relatives in Mexico.As we remember Mami Evita, we are reminded of the words of Mother Teresa, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." This sentiment captures the essence of Mami Evita's approach to life. She may not have sought greatness, but in her love and dedication to her family and her unwavering faith, she achieved it.Eva Casarreal De Garcia lived a full and blessed life, marked by her love for her family and her faith in God. As we bid her farewell, we take comfort in the knowledge that she now rests in eternal peace.
