Marshfield, MO
Eunice “Arlene” Carpenter, age 86, of Marshfield, Missouri, passed away on March 9, 2026. Born on May 5, 1939, in Joplin, Missouri, to Earnest James and Wilma Breazeale, Arlene grew up with a gentle spirit that would define her lifelong love for family and children.
In 1958 she married Earl Clyde Carpenter, and together they created a warm and loving home. They were blessed with five children: Greg (Rhonda) Carpenter, Judy (Randy) Loveland, Dean (Dorynda) Carpenter, Christy (Larry) Welty, and Michelle (Lloyd) Murray. Arlene delighted in her role as grandmother to 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, always finding joy in their presence.
Arlene worked at Glo Drycleaners in Springfield and spent many years caring for children in her own home. She was a faithful presence in the church nursery, where her affection for little ones shone brightly. With skilled hands and a generous heart, she sewed and embroidered beautiful quilts and handmade treasures that she lovingly gave to her family, gifts that will be cherished for generations to come.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, and her son-in-law Farrell Cutburth. Arlene is survived by her sister Janice Dipley, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who will carry forward the love and memories she so freely shared. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
