Eula Ann Nelson

Eula Ann Hardin Nelson, 97, of Murphy, N.C., passed away Monday, March 9, 2026. She was born in Cherokee County, N.C., to the late Jack and Eunice Hardin. Eula retired as a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Office. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy and playing with her grandchildren. Eula also enjoyed working word search and crossword puzzles. She was a member of Topton Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Nelson; one son, Jimmy Nelson; one daughter, Janice Carver; one brother, Ralph Hardin; one sister, Virginia Webb; and four grandsons, Dwayne Nelson, David Nelson, Darren Nelson and Jeremy Carver. She is survived by two granddaughters, two grandsons, four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. The Rev. Kenny White officiated. The family received friends from noon-1 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Murphy. Townson-Rose Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangements.
