Eugene Plummer ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by A Better Place Funeral & Cremation Services on Mar. 16, 2026.Eugene ("Gene") Wilson Plummer, 84, of Castle Rock, Colorado passed away Wednesday March 4, 2026, at home with his family following a short illness.Eugene was born in Coosawhatchie, SC to the late Furman Vinson Elliott and Jeanie Lucille Wilson Elliott. Gene was adopted by the late Eugene Keith Plummer after he married Jeanie.Following high school, Gene joined the Navy and served aboard the USS Rock submarine (AGSS 274). He was honorably discharged following his service.Extensive lifetime travel took Gene to all 50 United States and twenty-three countries. It was on one of these travels overseas that Gene met and later married Carolyn Esmie Birt from Maryborough, Queensland, Australia. Their 55th wedding anniversary would have been March 27th.As a civilian, Gene worked closely with the military. As such, most of his employment details were classified. At Lockheed Martin's Advanced Development Programs division (Skunk Works), he was particularly proud of his time on the F117A Stealth Fighter project.A true servant of God, he authored works to share Biblical truth. His authored books include A Study of The Book of Revelation (© 2014), The Seventeenth Book: A Study of Esther (© 2019), and The Biblical Primal History: Unlocking Genesis 1 thru 11 (© 2024). All under the pen name W. Eugene Elliott.Eugene is preceded in death by his grandparents, John Robert Wilson and Florence Owen Wilson; his father, Furman Elliott; his mother, Jeanie Plummer; his adoptive father, Eugene Plummer; and his brother, Robert Vinson Elliott.Left to cherish Eugene's memory are his wife, Carolyn; sons Eric Arthur Plummer (Alyson) of Castle Rock, CO; and Wraymond Keith Plummer (Lisa) of El Dorado Hills, CA; grandchildren Ethan Brandt Plummer and Reese Alexia Plummer, both of Castle Rock; Brady Dean Plummer of El Dorado Hills; nieces Sheryl Elliott Hinson of Inman, SC; Wanda Elliott Rushton of Statesville, NC.; three great- nephews, a great-niece and three great-great nieces.A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday March 28, 2026, at Canyons Community Church, 4825 Crowfoot Valley Road, Castle Rock, CO. A reception will follow immediately after the service.Eugene's cremains will be privately laid to rest at a later date.Memorials can be made to Canyons Community Church or a local charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
