He was predeceased by: his parents, Zula B. Smith and Fred Kay Smith; and his siblings, Annabelle Wallace and Freeman Kay Smith. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Howard Smith; and his children, Rita Wilson, Teresa McDonald (Wyatt) and Philip Eugene Smith.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the New Funeral Home (202 N Main, Owenton, KY 40359). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the New Funeral Home (202 North Main Street, Elizabethtown, KY 42701).
