Eugene Pinnick, 86, of French Lick, Indiana, entered into eternal rest on March 9, 2026, at Springs Valley Meadows.
Born in Shoals, Indiana, on October 14, 1939, to Albert and Louise (Richardson) Pinnick, Gene graduated from Shoals High School in 1958. He married Edith Galloway on October 21, 1959; she followed him in death on March 12, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James “Jimmy” Pinnick.
Gene retired after 39 years with the Indiana Department of Revenue, where he served as a Field Auditor and District Manager. He remained deeply involved in his community, serving on the Public Defender Board, the Orange County Community Foundation Board of Directors, the Humane Society Board, the First Chance Center Board of Directors, the Orange County Tourism Board, and one term on the Orange County Council. He was a recipient of the Distinguished Hoosier Award and a charter member of the JayCees. A lifelong member of Youngs Creek Church of Christ, he found joy in buying, selling, and repairing antique clocks. He also cherished flying and taking aerial photographs with his son Brent, as well as feeding the deer and birds near his home.
He is survived by his son, Brent Pinnick (Marilyn) of West Baden Springs, Indiana; his daughter, Brenda Wyman (Gary) of French Lick, Indiana; granddaughter Kayla Best (Logan) of French Lick, Indiana; bonus grandsons Bill Choate, Jason (Michelle) Choate, and Jordan (Jane) Wyman; bonus granddaughter Amanda (John) Bush; and several bonus great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
