Castle Shannon, PA
Eugene “Gene” Mazza, 87, of Castle Shannon, formerly of Eighty Four, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born on February 23, 1939, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Joseph and Laura Mazza.
Gene worked for many years at UPS and Joseph Horne’s, taking quiet pride in his work and the stable life he provided for his family. He found joy in simple pleasures—spending time with loved ones, sharing laughs and a glass of red wine with his brothers, and cheering faithfully for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. He also enjoyed yard work, solving crossword puzzles, and maintaining a lifelong interest in cars. Those who knew him will remember his easygoing nature, his strong devotion to family, and the genuine pleasure he took in everyday moments.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Eileen (Zoog) Mazza; his loving daughters, Gina (Bobby) Rogers and Pamela (Craig) Mysliwczyk; cherished grandchildren Carlee and Stephen Rogers, and Jacob and Emily Mysliwczyk; his brother Anthony (Tina) Mazza; his sister Lorraine Hipple; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers Carl (Lee) Mazza and Joseph Mazza.
Gene’s love for his family, his sense of humor, and the many memories shared around the table and in the backyard will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
