83, of Cranston, passed away on Sunday March 15, 2026 at RI Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Valerie A (Fraime) Waldeck. Born in Pawtucket he was the son of the late Eugene E. and Hazel (Brown) Waldeck, Sr. Gene was the owner-operator of LGP Distribution for many years. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Bryant College.
He was the former Rhode Island Bass Master 1998 Champion and National Ranked BMX Racer, a member of the San Bernardo Men’s Society of Cranston.
Gene was a member of the Italo American Club of Providence for many years and was known as the “Ticket Master” and was the organizer with his wife Valerie of the annual children’s Christmas Party.
Besides his wife he was the devoted father of Kevin Waldeck and his wife Christine, Garry Waldeck and his wife Kathleen, Christopher Waldeck and his wife Christine and Tracy Waldeck and her husband Giles; loving grandfather of Alexis, Avery, Christopher, Lily, Phoebe, Justin and Audrey. He was the dear brother of Richard Waldeck and his wife Maureen.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday March 21, 2026 at 10 am in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory 1278 Park Ave. Cranston. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park in Johnston.
Visiting hours are Friday March 20, 2026 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
