Eugene E. Norris

July 14, 1933 March 10, 2026

East Windsor, NJ

Eugene E. Norris, age 92, of East Windsor, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at Artis Senior Living at Princeton Junction. Born on July 14, 1933, in Manteca, California, Gene lived a life filled with adventure, creativity, and a deep love for his family.

A proud graduate of Hayward High School’s Class of 1951, Gene served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War, rising to the rank of Sergeant. Upon returning home, he began a 35-year career with IBM as a Systems Engineer, first in California and later in New Jersey. Known as a gifted teacher and mentor, he pursued lifelong learning through numerous certifications and left a lasting mark of knowledge and expertise in the field of information technology.

Gene was a creator at heart who found joy working with his hands. He designed and built furniture, created metal sculptures, painted, and tended legendary gardens filled with seasonal vegetables. Reserved and humble about his many talents, he preferred sharing his knowledge quietly with family and friends rather than seeking recognition. He loved Tex-Mex cuisine, western wear, country music, and hosting backyard barbecues. An avid traveler, he explored the world and especially cherished riding horseback through America’s national parks. Above all, he treasured nearly 50 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sydelle, building a warm blended home filled with laughter and love for their children.

Gene was predeceased by his parents, Oliver and Leone (Stoken) Norris, and his brother, Robert Norris. He is survived by his loving wife, Sydelle Norris; his children and their spouses, Teri and Robert Rosenberg of Bradley Beach, NJ; Tim and Dee Norris of Langhorne, PA; Jack and Michelle Guida of West Chester, PA; and Lowell and Valerie Guida of Naples, FL; six grandchildren, Melissa, Michael, Rachel, Kate, Renee, and Lexi; and seven great-grandchildren, Juliana, Chase, Matthew, Jack, Luke, Corwin, and Ari. His legacy of kindness, creativity, and adventurous spirit will live on in all who knew and loved him.
