Danbury, CT

Eugene Donald Ferenz Jr., lovingly known as “Donny,” passed away unexpectedly on March 9, 2026. Born on February 24, 1962, in Yonkers, New York, he was the son of Joan (Parent) Ferenz and Eugene “Gene” Donald Ferenz Sr. Donny made his home in Connecticut, living most of his life in Danbury and Bethel.

A graduate of Henry Abbott Technical High School, where he studied plumbing and heating, Donny later worked as a personal trainer, a career that reflected his lifelong passion for fitness. He cherished warm weather and the beach, spending many happy hours by the ocean searching for shark teeth and other treasures that he transformed into creative beach-themed artwork and projects. He took great pride in his vehicles, especially his Jeep, which he customized with the same creativity, individuality, and attention to detail that marked everything he did.

Above all, Donny was a devoted family man who centered his world around his children and grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with them and lived with a huge heart and a positive attitude that touched everyone around him.

He is survived by his four children, Vanessa Ferenz and her fiancé Erick Quezada, Christina Ferenz, Anthony Ferenz and his wife Zoila, and Dominic Ferenz and his wife Carolyn; his six beloved grandchildren, Vita Marie, Liana, Rosalie, Angelo, Vincenzo, and Dominic Jr.; his father, Eugene “Gene” Ferenz Sr.; his sister, Gayle Guyton; his former spouse, Vita Ferenz; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Joan Ferenz.
