Ethie Brothwell ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Schwab Mortuary and Crematory - Afton on Mar. 17, 2026.With a heavy heart but one full of gratitude and love, the family of Ethie Helen (Harvey) Brothwell is sad to announce her passing. She passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday March 8, 2026 in Afton, Wyoming.Ethie was born on July 30, 1938 in Helena Montana to Fred and Sarah Harvey. She had a twin brother and they were the middle siblings of 10 children total. I imagine it was a busy household with all of those children. She was best friends with her younger sister, Elinor and she shared many funny stories of their shenanigans throughout life. She learned a lot from her older siblings as well. The family spent many years moving around to follow her fathers job. In her teenage years they landed in Kennewick Washington. This is where she met and fell in love with Norman Brothwell. They married when she was 17 and started a family quickly after. They had 5 beautiful children together, 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.Ethie and Norman spent much of their life together in Montana running a business and raising their children. After retirement they would travel around the country in their RV. She would say their traveling days were her favorite. Ethie was devastated when she lost Norm back in 2016. Soon after he passed, she was taken care of by her two daughters and landed in Colorado with her eldest daughter Sandi. They all moved together to Bedford Wyoming where she spent most of her last 5 years, with the occasional road trip thrown in.Ethie was preceded in death by her loving husband Norman, her parents and all 9 of her siblings. Her children Steven, Susan and Norman, JR. She leaves behind her daughters Sandra (Robert) Harshaw and Linda Brothwell. Her 8 grandchildren Samuel (Tara) Harshaw, Richard Harshaw, Kurtis (Shelby) Harshaw, Bobbi (Duke) Robinson, Alyssa (Ryan) Lingscheit, Keenan Harshaw, Ryan (Lindsey) Isdahl, Christopher (Alysha) Isdahl. And a whole herd of great grandchildren. We will forever be grateful for the love that she shared, the lessons we learned and the legacy she left.
