He attended Warrensburg Schools where he excelled in his studies, graduating in May of 2020.Between his Junior and Senior year of High School, Ethan attended Army Basic Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. After his high school graduation, Ethan attended AIT at Fort Leonard Wood and was a distinguished honor graduate and enlisted in the Army Reserves.Ethan was active in Boy Scouts, Troop 513, and attained the rank of Life Scout. He also enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons at a weekly gathering with his dad, playing video games, and spending time with friends.Ethan is survived by his wife, Skylar Hillsman, his son Emery, and his siblings, Gavin Hillsman, Aylex Hillsman, Isaiah Hillsman, Kanin Foster, Taryn Foster, Carly Foster, Ethan Parten, and Joshuah Hillsman. He is also survived by his mother Elizabeth Sudduth Foster, his maternal grandmother, Linda Sudduth, and his paternal grandparents, Don and Teresa Hillsman, his step grandparents, Beverly Swihart and Chuck Swihart, his friend and mentor, Benjamin Johnson, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family and friends.He was preceded in death by his father, William James Hillsman, his step-mother, Vanna Lynn Swihart Hillsman, and his maternal grandfather, Larry Sudduth.The family will receive guests on Monday, March 16, at 10:00 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 607 N. Maguire, Warrensburg, Missouri with a funeral service at 11:00 AM.
