Esther S. Howe

Esther Howe, 90, of Lansing, New York, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born in Ithaca and raised in Lansing, she dedicated 25 years of her career to the operating rooms of Tompkins County Hospital and later Cayuga Medical Center, where she served as an Assistant Anesthesiologist.

Esther and her husband, PeeWee, cherished their time together in Cocoa Beach, Florida, where they formed many lasting friendships. She also found great joy in playing cards, particularly the games of Euchre and Pitch.

She was predeceased by her husband, PeeWee Howe, and her daughter, Laurie Jackson. Esther is survived by her daughters, Rose (Bill) Hall of Lansing, Jane Hancy (Kevin) of Ithaca, and Georgette Burke of Lansing; her brother, Chancey (Linda) Bush of Lansing; grandchildren Steven Hancy (Cara) of Vermont, Lucas Burke (Megan) of Dryden, and Desiree (JJ) Klimekoski of Spencer; and great-grandchildren Hunter, Aurora, and Slate Hancy of Vermont, and Zeke, Lincoln, and Poppy of Spencer. A private service will be held for immediate family, with a celebration of life planned for this spring.
