Esther Melaragno

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Esther Melaragno of Gaffney, South Carolina, who passed away on March 8, 2026, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Dominick Moro and Nicolina DeNardo Moro; her siblings, Helen Montenaro, Mary Ioia, Pete Moro, Joe Moro, Albert Moro, Sevio "Sam" Moro and Geno Moro; and her daughter-in-law Kelly Wood Melaragno.

She is survived by: her husband George Robert Melaragno; her children, Don Melaragno (Cindy) of Gaffney, Steve Melaragno (Connie) of Texas, Scott Melaragno (Kim) of Gaffney, SC, Anna Marie Wilkins (Bryan) of Gaffney, Diana Reid (Darrell) of Gaffney and Karen Mabry (Terry) of Gaffney; her grandchildren, Justin Reid (Ysabel), Erin Wise (Charlie), Jared Melaragno (Éowyn), Jordan Melaragno, Ashley Lovingood (Mark), Kristin Burman (Oliver), Joshua Melaragno, Allyson Melaragno, Kelsey Smiley (Tyler) and Jake Krull (Jordan); and her caregivers, Alexis, Betty, Kitt, Val, Harriett and Jackie.

A rosary will be held on Sunday, March 15th 2026 from 5:30 PM to 6:00 PM at the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel (1047 Chesnee Hwy, Gaffney, SC 29341). Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 15th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Blakely Funeral Home (1047 Chesnee Hwy, Gaffney, SC 29341). A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (205 Sams St, Gaffney, SC 29340).
