Ernest "Chip" W. Gauthier

Ernest “Chip” W. Gauthier, 81, of Rochester, New Hampshire, passed away on March 11, 2026, after a period of declining health. Born on July 29, 1944, in Rochester, he grew up in the local area before enlisting in the Navy following high school. He served his country for twenty years before returning to Rochester, where he worked at Thompson Center Arms until his retirement in 2010.

Chip was a quiet and thoughtful man who found great pleasure in reading, drawing, and exploring his family ancestry. His curiosity and love of history brought him joy throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Gauthier. He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest H. and Ida Faye Gauthier, and his brother, Gerald.
