In the vast expanse of eternity, Ernest shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Ernest farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Gottfried Riesen and Hedwig Riesen; and his wife Betty (Patrick). He is survived by: his children, Brenda Riesen, Kathy Howe (Dave), Scott Riesen (Kim), Gerald Riesen (Mandy) and Bruce Riesen (Donna). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the C. H. Landers, Inc. Funeral Chapel (21 Main St, Sidney, NY 13838). A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford or Hospice of Chenango County.
