He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Beulah Cortez, his brothers Richard and Lane Foster, and his great-grandson Benjamin Parker.
Ernest is survived by his wife, Trudy Cortez of Dubberly, his son Evan Cortez and wife Sarah of Missouri, his daughters Emma Meehan and husband Patrick of Missouri, Charmaine Furman and husband Sean of Missouri, and Caitlyn Cortez of Dubberly, his brother Stanley Foster and wife Ruth of Des Allemands, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love for his family remained at the center of his life.
