Erna Kroll

Erna M. Kroll, age 91, of Falls City, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 11, 2026. She was born on October 27, 1934, to John Hosek and Julie (Hrbacek) Hosek in Wilson County, Texas.

Throughout her life, Erna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, as well as a faithful parishioner of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She gave 25 years of service at Wiatrek’s Meat Market in Poth and later worked as a certified nursing assistant at John Paul Nursing Home in Kenedy. She found quiet joy in gardening, family gatherings, and helping her grandchildren prepare their chickens each year for the stock show. Her exceptional baking, especially her beloved apple strudel, brought warmth and comfort to those around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Emil Kroll; her son, Gary Kroll; and her sisters, Hilda, Helen, Henryetta, and Julie Bell.

Erna is survived by her children, Ronnie (Brenda) Kroll, Larry (Debbie) Kroll, Kathy (Larry) Koether, and Emil (Mary) Kroll Jr.; her grandchildren, Karissa, Melissa, Scott, Kimberly, Lindsay, Robbie, Ashley, Stacey, Bradley, Stephanie, Trey, Mason, Neil, and Tatum; 22 great-grandchildren; and her brother, John Hosek.
