Delores Ermal Dean Williams was born on September 6, 1939, in Summerfield, Oklahoma, to Virgil Lincoln and Lois Bernice (Sutton) Robinson. Ermal grew to be a lifeline of grace and compassion to all who knew her. Ermal married Don Williams on August 2, 1984. She worked as a seamstress as well as owned and operated the Village Cleaners and The Saltillo Store. She had also worked at Saltillo ISD and Rockwell International. In her free time, she was a part of the Hopkins County CB Club. She was a proud member of the Cross Spur Cowboy Church. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Ermal found her greatest joy in time spent with family. Everyone knew her family reunions were something she cherished and prepared for all year long. She was known best for her masterful, home-style cooking skills. Her children will forever remember walking into her home and enjoying the festive aroma of each of their favorite foods at the holidays. The best memory was watching the long fought over debate of who was going home with the extra chocolate meringue pie that was especially made for each of them. She could always be found diligently working in her garden or yard, tending to the vast, beloved array of flowers and plants. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to quilt and sew for others. She loved listening to music, spoiling children, and visiting with anyone who sat beside her. Ermal will be remembered for her open heart, which made everyone feel instantly welcomed into her circle.
She will be lovingly missed by her husband, Don Williams; daughter, Sherrye Lawanna Winkle and husband, James, of Sulphur Springs, Texas; sons, Kenneth Ray Comer and wife, Amber, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and Marlon Eugene Comer of Birthright, Texas; grandchildren, Heather Winkle, Jamie Algibali and husband, Abdulla, Meagan Groening and husband, Cody, Michaela Thorn and husband, Anthony, Makayla Bridges, Hailey Bridges, Dawn Wisdom, Dustin Wisdom, Justin Wisdom, and Madison Wisdom; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Stonaker of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Suela Hearn of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and Theresa Blevins of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and brothers, Jimmy Robinson of Sulphur Springs, Texas, and Gary Don Robinson of Sulphur Springs, Texas.
Ermal was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Janice Carole Comer; son, Michael Glenn Comer; grandson, William Robinson; sisters, Juanita Williams and Deanna Riley; and brother, Marvin Robinson, along with many other family members and beloved friends. Ermal was a strong, independent woman who provided for her family in infinite ways. She left behind a legacy of love, kindness, steadfast family values, strength, and faith that will continue through each generation she so deeply adored.
