Eris L. Hogue, formerly of Bradford and Bradenton, Florida, passed away on March 2, 2026, at her daughter’s home in Seneca, where she had lived for the last several years.
Born in Bradford, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Eve Daubenspeck Latham. A 1941 graduate of Bradford High School, Eris married Kenneth W. Hogue on January 11, 1942, in Allegany, New York. Ken preceded her in death on May 30, 2007. For 28 years, she worked as an expediter at Corning Glass.
Eris was a longtime member of the Derrick City United Methodist Church. She enjoyed bowling with the Starlite Bowling League, belonged to the Bradford Women of the Moose and the Red Hat Society, and served as a Girl Scout leader. She will be remembered for her steady presence, quiet strength, and the care she showed her family and community.
She is survived by her three sons, Kenneth C. (Lynn) Hogue, Gregory L. Hogue, and Jeffrey A. Hogue, all of Bradford; her daughter, Karen L. Smith of Seneca; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Jean Stiable, Josephine Latham, and Erla D. Whitehill, and a grandson, Todd M. Hogue.
