Erik Griswold

Erik Griswold passed away on March 9, 2026, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham after a six-year battle with colon cancer. He was 60 years old.

Born on February 27, 1966, in Troy, Alabama, Erik was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Crocker Griswold, and his grandparents, Clayborn and Irene Griswold, Connie B. Crocker, and Molly Adele Crocker. An intelligent and devoted man, he took great pride in his years of service as a minister for the Church of Christ in Franklin County, Georgia. He was a dedicated husband and father whose courage while facing stage 4 cancer inspired many who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Michelle Griswold; his son, Austin Griswold and his wife Annie of South Carolina; his father, Anthony Griswold; his siblings, Tim Griswold and his wife Anay, and Amanda Chandler and her husband Lee; his sister-in-law, Lisa Little and her husband Mike; his nephews, Andrew Griswold, Coty Akin, Malachi Little, and Nathanial Little; and his nieces, Shea Smith and her husband Chaves, and Faith Greene and her husband Kevin.

Erik will be deeply missed by his family. He leaves behind a lasting legacy of hard work, determination, and bravery.
